About the Role
The successful candidate will be required to carry out metal fabrication, welding and machining services that support the overall site planned maintenance strategy, including identified repairs and upgrades to production plant, equipment and buildings. To ensure safety and reliability of the production process and equipment is maintained.
Role & responsibilities:
- Continuous development of knowledge and familiarity with the engineering requirements of the bakery process systems and machinery
- To work as an active part of a skilled cross functional planned maintenance team
- To ensure correct Health & Safety, Food Safety and Hygiene standards are adhered to at all times
- To actively participate in a Continuous Improvement culture throughout the site, constantly identifying opportunities to improve efficiencies and reduce waste. Participating and fully supporting the site Operating Brilliance Process (OBP) and contributing to cross functional objectives if required
- To ensure planned maintenance work is completed to strict schedules, and constantly look for improvements that will ensure reliability of equipment is improved
- To ensure good working practices are adhered to throughout
- To work on various projects including installation and modifications to plants and equipment
- To ensure working area and associated equipment is always maintained to good safe standard
- To ensure equipment within work area of responsibility is inspected and examined as required for safety reasons
- All work to be documented on the CMMS and completed within the set timescale
- To attend the engineering daily review meeting when required
- To work alongside and support the BI team/projects team when required to meet the business’ objectives

Completion of the University of Sheffield’s AMRC Training Centre apprenticeships are nationally recognised qualifications which are acknowledged and respected by employers across the world. These can open the door to many more opportunities, such as Engineering Management and Project Engineering positions across a range of sectors worldwide.
About the Training
You will study on a Level 3 Metal Fabricator apprenticeship. On completion of this, you will gain a qualification in Engineering at Level 3 standard.
During the first year of the apprenticeship, your learning will take place at the University of Sheffield’s AMRC Training Centre based at Catcliffe, Rotherham, for an initial block of study on a full-time basis. After this, you will attend the training centre for one day a week for knowledge study.
