About the Role
An excellent opportunity to join this long established and busy automotive business, of which specialises in the body and paint repair of a wide range of cars. You will have a very keen interest and passion for this both practical and workshop based role with a thirst to learn and develop body repair and paint refinishing skills.
Reporting to the Director
The apprentice Paint Refinisher to train/work alongside existing skilled staff in the Paint department reporting to the workshop controller or depot manager daily.
In addition to training and assisting in the paint department you will carry out general housekeeping duties.
You will mainly work with a chosen mentor in the paint department with duties to include:

Preparation – stripping, sanding and masking

Etching and priming areas to be treated

Colour matching and mixing

Paint application techniques including spray booth technology

Buffing and polishing methods
-
Paint defect corrections.
Sustained employment and further accredited training for the successful candidate able to demonstrate commitment with the eagerness to develop their skills.
About the Training
Vehicle Damage Paint Technician Level 3 Apprentice Standard – includes an End Point Assessment.
The EPA consists of three distinct assessment methods:
- Knowledge Test
- Professional Discussion (supported by a portfolio of evidence)
- Practical Skills Test
- 1 day per week Sheffield College - Advanced Technology Centre
