About the Role
The position will initially involve a broad range of trainee duties aimed at supporting the wider team and developing professional quantity surveying skills. As you progress there will be excellent career development opportunities – many of our senior managers started as Monaghans trainees, including several of the main board directors!
- Provide professional advice and recommendations to clients relating to land, property or construction.
- Manage client instructions from engagement to completion.
- Liaise with other professionals typically including legal advisers, architects, engineers, town planners and contractors.
- Negotiate contracts and prices.
- Analyse data relating to land, buildings or construction.
- Follow due diligence in providing advice to clients.
- Undertake detailed inspections of buildings, land or construction.
- Analyse information from inspections or visits to buildings, land and construction sites.
- Advise on procurement routes and tender processes.
- Undertake costing and cost planning of construction projects.
- Manage efficiency in construction projects.

About the Training
- Academic: BSc (Hons) Professional Practice in Quantity Surveying
- Professional Membership: Chartership with Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (RICS)
- You will be required to attend Sheffield Hallam University on day release
