About the Role
The candidate will machine components to the highest standard on CNC lathes whilst striving to keep a safe working environment. Role & responsibilities:
- To manufacture components to AESSEAL drawings in stainless 316L and Phosphor Bronze on multiple machines.
- Work to tight deadlines in a pressurised working environment to fulfil our corporate promise of exceptional customer service.
- Verifying and editing CAM programmes in order to ensure components are manufactured to the desired quality and efficiency standards.
- Interpret complex engineering drawings.
- Perform quality checks as per AESSEAL procedures using measuring equipment and/or CMM.
- Strictly adhere to safe working practices and highlight any potential hazards to relevant team leaders.
- Maintain a clean work area.

Completion of the University of Sheffield’s AMRC Training Centre apprenticeships are nationally recognised qualifications which are acknowledged and respected by employers across the world. These can open the door to many more opportunities, such as Engineering Management and Project Engineering positions across a range of sectors worldwide.
About the Training
You will study on a Level 3 Machining Technician pathway. On completion of this, you will gain a qualification in Engineering at Level 3 standard.
During the first year of the apprenticeship, your learning will take place at the University of Sheffield’s AMRC Training Centre based at Catcliffe, Rotherham, for an initial block of study on a full-time basis. After this, you will attend the Training Centre for one day a week for knowledge study.
