About the Role
Commercial Domestic Investigations are recruiting for apprentice credit controller/collector to join their busy office based in Sunderland. The successful candidates will learn all aspects of credit control and gain a recognised level 2 qualification upon completion of the apprenticeship. We are looking for a proactive Credit Control / Collector Apprentice to join our finance team. This apprenticeship offers a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience in credit control, invoicing, and account management. You will support the finance team in ensuring that payments are received on time, customer accounts are accurately maintained, and any outstanding debts are efficiently managed. This is an ideal role for someone looking to start a career in finance and credit control, with full training and support provided.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with processing and issuing customer invoices.
- Monitor and follow up on outstanding payments.
- Communicate with customers regarding overdue accounts and payment arrangements.
- Update and maintain accurate customer account records.
- Support with preparing reports on overdue payments and aged debt.
- Assist with reconciling payments and resolving account discrepancies.
- Chasing overdue balances by a variety of different methods.
- Liaising across all levels of responsibility, from Director to credit controller.
- Working towards and achieving collections targets.
- Developing relationships with customers and identifying additional sales opportunities.
- Producing client reports.
- Updating CRM.
- Raising, chasing and concluding cases for customers.
- Conducting a high volume of outbound calls, adapting your approach to suit your customer and their business requirements.
- Listening actively and using your objection-handling skills where necessary to ensure positive outcomes are reached for customers.
- Managing your own customer pipeline and diarising customer callbacks.
- Securely managing customer documentation.
- Maintaining excellent customer service levels.
- Cultivating strong relationships with clients, maintaining regular communication to build trust and rapport.
Upon successful completion of the apprenticeship programme, the successful candidates will have an opportunity to progress through to the advanced credit controller level 3 apprenticeship.
About the Training
- On the job training delivered by the employer.
- Apprentices without Level 2 English and maths will need to achieve this level prior to taking the end point assessment.
- For those with an education, health and care plan or a legacy statement, the apprenticeships English and Mathematics minimum requirement is Entry Level 3.
- Allocation of an apprenticeship delivery coach who will carry out regular training.
- Assessment and support visits to ensure you acquire new learning, knowledge skills and behaviours in order to progress and develop.
- Identify, track and support 6 hours off the job training activities.
- Quarterly formal progress review meetings, identifying learning achievements and next steps.
